Family traditions are one of my favorite things about the Holiday Season. So many of my traditions come from my wonderful Mom and the things she did for us to make Christmas special.
We may not have had the fanciest table with gourmet dishes but there was always enough food for leftovers and our home was filled with so much love.
One of everyone’s favorites is the Red Christmas Punch. We’ve served this at Nielson (my side of the family) gatherings for as long as I can remember. It’s really easy and kids LOVE it.
Ingredients:
2 Pkgs of Koolaid: We usually do 2 different red flavors but they can be hard to find (Black Cherry and Strawberry are my mom’s preference) but raspberry, cherry or strawberry works.
1 container of frozen lemonade concentrate
1.5 cups of sugar (We usually only do 1 cup so it's not quite as sweet)
2 liter of ginger ale
2 quarts of water
We usually make these in empty gallon ice cream pails. Combine together (be sure to stir really well) and serve cold. Stir before serving. You can dump them back and forth a bit to mix them well. As well as into a pitcher. It's best to do mix over the sink because Koolaid stuff stains pretty well.
Let me know if you make our delicious Christmas Punch! We hope your family loves it as much as we do! Merry Christmas!
